“Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.” (Psalm 143:10) As human beings we find ourselves in situations beyond our control all the time. Thankfully, as Christians we have a great and powerful God who is willing to lead us by his “good Spirit.” My name is Pastor Peter Coon, and my wife Abby and I can testify to God’s goodness over the past three years serving at Crossroads Bible Fellowship. We have experienced the joys and trials of having and rearing two children, Israel and Alleluia; we have experienced the sorrows of loss in our church family as well as the blessings of new church members; we are constantly encountering new challenges that test our faith and fortitude– and yet God’s Spirit is still good! Proverbs 3:5-6 says to “trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” My wife and I both grew up in conservative Christian homes and trusted Jesus Christ as our savior at a young age. My father has been a pastor since before I was born, and my wife’s father is a speaker for the Alpha Omega Institute, a small organization that teaches creation science. We met at camp when we were very young, and later went to Bible School together at Cornerstone Bible Institute in Hot Springs, South Dakota. We fell in love and were married, October 4th, 2014, one month after I had moved to Henderson to serve at Crossroads. We are confident that God is working through our church family, and humbled that He chooses to use us, as we have experienced His incredible hand of blessing, guidance, and provision in our lives. We can surly testify that God is good.
